My second mobile. The only other comment I have to make about this one is that I obviously had a thing for using plain, rectangular blocks of wood as counterbalances for these mobiles. The quasi-artistic reason is that this serves as a kind of "ground" for the more organic shapes above. The practical reason is that it's really easy to get a plain, rectangular block of wood. I'm honestly not sure which reason was more important to me in 8th grade, but I'm sure that the the latter was quite influential on the former.
