The table of contents tool was actually pretty nifty, in that it not only provided a textual list of every screen on the CD-ROM, but would optionally show a thumbnail image of the highlighted screen. This proved to be a very useful feature, since it allows you to visually scan through the virtual book, in the same sort of way that you can leaf through a physical book. It's more effective than you might think.
